Last year, I had the privilege of helping a young couple—both just 21 years old—purchase their first home: a beautiful site-built home on acreage in Prescott Valley.
What impressed me most wasn’t their age.
It was their preparation.
The young woman had been working full-time since she was just 16 years old while completing school online. Together, they made intentional decisions, lived within their means, and stayed focused on a goal that many people assumed was out of reach.
When the right opportunity came along, they were ready.
Their story isn’t meant to suggest that buying a home is easy or that everyone’s journey looks the same. Every buyer’s circumstances are different.
But it is a reminder that homeownership rarely happens by accident.
